Hertfordshire splash parks + Daisy’s first one

It wasn’t until England had a nice little heatwave that we started to think about things to do with Daisy that didn’t involve melting. The park wasn’t manageable but we still wanted to be outside. So we started to think about local splash parks – after a bit of ‘googling’ we realised there are a large handful of splash parks semi-local to us. I remember going to splash parks as a young child but couldn’t particularly remember much about them. We thought we’d give Howard Park in Letchworth a go – and we loved it! It wasn’t big at all. It was a lot smaller than I had expected, but that was definitely better in my opinion. It meant we could keep a closer eye on Daisy and still not have to be in the water with her the whole time.

Daisy’s a bit of a clingy child. Clingy in the sense that she doesn’t like to go off on her own. She’ll want an adult with her or at least a few little buddies. But give her water and suddenly all that fear goes away. She’s a little water baby and I knew she’d love the splash park. It cost us 60p to park, 0p entry and that was it. There was a little cafe there but we didn’t buy anything as we went out for lunch afterwards. It’s such a cheap morning or afternoon and I can’t believe we haven’t been sooner. It was tons better than soft play as we could actually sit down on the grass and see Daisy’s every move. Not to mention how refreshing it was for us to dip our feet in.

We’ll 100% be going to more splash parks this summer. We plan to take a picnic and stay a little longer next time! I’ve put together a little list of all the splash parks I can find in Hertfordshire. As you can see – there’s a good handful to pick from. I had no idea half of these even existed. If you scroll a little further then there’s also lots of cute photos of Daisy! #justbecause

Wow looks such a gorgeous place to take the kids on a hot day. It’s so empty there! We are a little bit too far around the M25 but this is a really useful guide for hot Mums with hot Kids living in Hertfordshire – thanks for sharing with #coolmumclub

Beautiful shot! ❤️ we Love the splash park too. And I agree that smaller places can be better especially for my son who was a runner when he was small. Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉
